Anastasia and Stuart Norton ('83)

Anastasia and Stuart Norton (’83) established this scholarship in 2017. Stuart graduated from the College of Arts and Letters with a BS in Political Science. As a student, he was involved with Theta Chi and JMU police cadet program. He and his wife are active donors and members of the Duke Club. They created this scholarship to honor the memory of their daughter, Katherine Nicole Norton. Katherine passed away in August of 2015, before beginning her junior year, at JMU, and being able to complete the Elementary Education Program and pursue her passion for teaching. Before her untimely passing, Katherine was actively involved with Kappa Alpha Theta. In order to be named a Norton Memorial Scholarship recipient, one must be a student in good standing in the Elementary Education Program at James Madison University.
