The Luis De Souza Pinto (‘02) Memorial Scholarship Endowment for the Men’s Rugby Football Club at James Madison University was established in 2009 by Brian T. Rainey (‘04). Brian initiated this scholarship on behalf of the alumni members of the Men’s Rugby Football Club and the friends & family of Luis De Souza Pinto, all who have collectively made philanthropic gifts to this scholarship endowment. This endowment was created in memory of Luis De Souza Pinto (’02).

Luis’ passion for life and rugby was apparent in everything he did. His knowledge of rugby and the cultural diversity he brought to James Madison University – both during his undergraduate years and as an alum – inspired everyone he knew.
