Delta Sigma Pi

The Michael Matthew Brown Memorial Scholarship was established by Delta Sigma Pi in 1992 memory of Michael Brown. Michael attended James Madison University from 1987 to 1991 and majored in Accounting Information Systems. He was initiated into Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity in the spring of 1989 and held the positions of Senior Vice President and Vice President for Professional Activities. He died from cancer in 1992.

The Brown Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in a discipline within the College of Business. The recipient must show scholastic aptitude, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, and be involved in extracurricular activities and service to the university communication unity. The chosen recipient will demonstrate characteristics of integrity, courage, and honesty – the ideals inherent in Michael’s character. The scholarship will be awarded each year and is non-renewable.
