Dr. Helen M. Poindexter ('59)

Dr. Helen M. Poindexter (’59) established this scholarship in 1978. Dr. Pondexter graduated from the College of Education with a MA in Education. She made a career for herself at JMU. She was a professor of English. She was awarded for her work at the university with the title of faculty emeritus. Before her passing, she created this scholarship in honor of her mother. Agnes McDuffie was a graduate of and faculty member at the Peabody Conservatory. She taught piano.
