Karen and William Butcher III ('88)

Karen and William Butcher III (’88) established this scholarship in 2018. William graduated from the College of Business with a BS and majored in Economics. As a student, William was involved in Sigma Phi Epsilon. William and his wife, Karen, are active donors and involved in the JMU community. They created this Dukes Pay It Forward as a call to action for alumni to make gifts that will ensure future generations of students have access to the Madison Experience that was so meaningful to them; and, ultimately, to inspire recipients of Dukes Pay It Forward scholarship awards to give back when they themselves have the means to do so.
