Madison Investment Fund Excellence Endowment in support of Undergraduate Professional Development in the Department of Finance

Established by the Charles (’82) and Daniel (’12) Curtis Family.

This endowment will provide funds annually to support undergraduate students who engage in guided, analytic, pre-professional projects like the Madison Investment Fund or similar programs that expose students through hands-on experience to the world of finance and may be used to support student attendance at national forums or professional/academic conferences or competitions.

As to the selection of students as MIF Excellence Scholars, the appointments shall be made each year by the Dean of the College of Business in collaboration with the academic unit head for the Department of Finance and the advisor of the Madison Investment Fund in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean. The Donors’ only specific criteria is that students considered for this award shall have demonstrated academic excellence and a competitive drive to develop professional experience (as reflected in recommendations provided by faculty members on behalf of candidates). It is the Donors’ desire that the award be made in the Spring Semester. Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of student(s) to receive these funds shall follow the university’s guidelines for the awarding of such funds.
