Maxine Jobst Memorial Scholarship Endowment
An endowed scholarship established by Chris R. Wollenberg in memory of Maxine Jobst, the mother of Mr. Wollenberg’s late wife, Donna.
Candidates for this scholarship shall have participated in a superior program of academic study while in high school, have demonstrated a commitment to extra-curricular endeavors at a leadership level of involvement, and have a demonstrated financial hardship as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The Donor wishes for this scholarship to help students attend James Madison University who are from low income families and who demonstrate that their estimated family contribution to their education will be extremely low, if anything at all. To the extent appropriate, the Donor encourages the consideration of ancillary statements and documentation from and on behalf of the student candidate which may support a determination of the student’s financial circumstances. The scholarship is renewable for up to four successive academic years provided that the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.8 and remains in good standing. If the student’s GPA falls below 2.8, the student shall be given one semester to raise it to the required minimum and should the student not do so, the student will lose the scholarship immediately and it will be awarded to another qualifying student. The scholarship is intended solely for undergraduate study and will conclude upon the student’s completion of requirements for a baccalaureate degree without regard to whether the student would otherwise be eligible to renew the scholarship for one or more years. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships following the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
