J. Robert Gordon Physics Scholarship

An endowed scholarship established by Walter Curt and Raymond & Elizabeth Serway to honor Robert Gordon upon his retirement from the Physics Department. This scholarship is intended to benefit a JMU student who meets one of the following criteria: a) Incoming freshman student with demonstrated aptitude in mathematics and interest in physics, who plans to major in physics, and is considered outstanding, based on high school GPA, SAT scores and other factors considered relevant by the selection committee; b)Returning JMU student who is in good standing with the university, maintains a GPA above 3.0 and continues to major in physics. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the Head of the Physics Department in consultation with members of the physics department faculty.
