Leary-Palocsay Scholarship Endowment in Pre-Medicine

An endowed scholarship established by Dr. James S. Hanner (’81). Dr. Hanner, a 1981 Chemistry graduate from James Madison University, wishes to establish a scholarship in honor of Dr. James L. Leary and the late Dr. Frank A. Palocsay. Dr. Leary and Dr. Palocsay, both members of the University’s faculty in the Department of Chemistry, were influential in his pursuit of becoming a physician.

This scholarship will provide financial support for students pursuing a pre-medicine course of studies. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be in either their junior or senior year at Madison and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better. The selection of Leary-Palocsay Pre-Medicine Scholars shall be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Director of the Pre-Professional Health programs.
