James Madison Scholars - John D. & Thelma Eiland
An endowed scholarship established by John D. and Thelma Eiland, to honor Dr. Carrier’s twentieth year at JMU, to support a scholarship for recipients who have demonstrated academic potential as evidenced by grades and college entrance exam scores; who also have a genuine enthusiasm for life and learning and a demonstrated willingness to engage in creative, challenging activities outside the classroom. This scholarship is for attracting and retaining scholars in higher education. This scholarship may be awarded one time only or may follow the recipient thru their undergraduate years not to exceed a total of four years (five years for majors requiring a fifth year) provided the student is in good merit standing with the university.
