Philip R. Cosminsky Award

An annual scholarship fund established for the recipient of the Philip R. Cosminsky Award. Mr. Cosminsky was a Harrisonburg resident and a long-time member and supporter of the Geology department and Geology Club. He was an avid mineral enthusiast and collector and is in the Micromineralogist Hall of Fame. His micro-mount collection is housed in the JMU Mineral Collection.

The recipient will be a student with outstanding service to the department and university in both academic and other settings. This scholarship will be awarded annually at the discretion of the Academic Unit Head of Geology in conjunction with Geology faculty members.
