Eleanor E. Wright Memorial Scholarship

An endowed scholarship is established by William F. Wright, in memory of his sister, Eleanor, class of 1963, because of their family devotion to each other and their gratitude to the University.

This scholarship is intended to benefit a full time student in good academic standing, who is pursuing an academic program within the College of Education, and who is a Virginia resident. It is preferred that the same student receives this scholarship during his/her four years of college. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. An additional scholarship may be awarded when expendable-earnings are sufficient to fund other educational costs for one other recipient. The award can be made to no more than two students annually. The scholarship recipient is chosen at the discretion of the Dean, College of Education.
