Cecil D. Bradfield Scholarship in Sociology

An endowed scholarship established by Dr. Cecil D. Bradfield to benefit JMU students pursuing majors in Sociology. This scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time JMU student who meets the following criteria:

·Rising sophomore, junior or senior, with a GPA of at least 3.0, who is majoring in sociology or social work.
·Demonstrates Need as determined by filing the Free Financial Aid Form by March of the enrolling year.
·Demonstrates commitment to community service and advocacy for the underprivileged.

The recipient will be chosen by a committee consisting of members of the sociology department. The scholarship will be administered by the Office of Financial Aid upon the recommendation of the committees of the Sociology and Anthropology Department. The scholarship shall be awarded to a student in Sociology in even years, beginning in 2002.
