Lancaster Archery Foundation Scholarship Fund

An annual scholarship established by the Lancaster Archery Foundation.

This scholarship is to be awarded with the following eligibility criteria:

• The recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time at the University with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, or rising freshman with an equivalent or better GPA level per the high school where they are enrolled.

• The recipient must be an active member of JMU Club Archery, which is a Sport Club in University Recreation, or rising freshman with a current competitive archery resume prior to attending the University.

• The recipient must be in good standing with the James Madison University community.

• All applicants must attach a signed copy of their shooting resume and one letter of recommendation signed by their current archery coach or instructor who is a non-family member. The shooting resume should include personal best score from tournaments and list any national wins and tournament placement under sanctioning bodies. The letter of recommendation should speak to how the applicant exemplifies strong leadership skills, is team oriented and is a mentor for fellow teammates and younger archers.

• If more than one applicant is eligible for the scholarship based on the determination criteria, the student with the highest average shooting score (based on their selected archery class) will be awarded the scholarship.

• The scholarship is renewable for up to four additional years as long as the student continues to meet the established criteria.
Should the scholarship recipient leave James Madison University for any reason whether voluntary or involuntary, the scholarship will end and any remaining funds will be reallocated back to the scholarship fund for disbursement to a new scholarship recipient.

Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Director of University Recreation in consultation with the Club Archery coaching staff following the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
