Semper Fi Scholarship Endowment

An endowed scholarship established by Gary W. Juhan in memory of Dr. Juhan’s father and mother and in honor of his children, Rachael and Cagle Juhan. Ed Juhan served as a Marine Paratrooper in World War II. Edna Juhan served in the Cadet Nurse Corps and as a Registered Nurse for over forty years.

The scholarship will benefit a full-time student majoring in Hospitality Management or Sport and Recreation Management who has lost a parent before admission or while a student at James Madison University. Scholarships are renewable and will be awarded at the discretion of the Director of The Hart School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management. Beyond this criteria, the selection of the scholarship recipients will follow the university’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships. In the event that there is not a student who meets these criteria, funds will be held over to be expended in subsequent years.
