Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award

A scholarship award funded by a one year grant from the Presser Foundation (not automatically renewed each year).

On file with the JMU Foundation are the following criteria: The Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award shall be given to an outstanding music major at the end of their final year of study. The student is to be designated a “Presser Scholar”. The award is intended to be a prestigious one recognizing excellence.

Announcement of the selection of the “Presser Scholar” is requested to be made in appropriate ways, publicly if possible. The student selected should be identified by the music faculty and approved by Financial Aid before notifying the student of the award. The decision should then be communicated by the Director of the School of Music to The Presser Foundation with a brief statement about the student.
