William F. Wright ('60, '66) Academic Scholarship Endowment
An endowed scholarship established by William F. Wright (’60, ’66) to support a scholarship to assist students in their academic endeavors. To be eligible, a student must be a Virginia resident; enrolled full time as an entering freshman or upperclassman; in good standing with the university; and maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher. Once a student is named a Wright Scholar, this scholarship may be renewed as long as the recipient meets the above mentioned conditions. The initial goal of this gift was to provide sufficient resources to pay full in-state tuition and fees for one academic year at James Madison University, or as high a proportion of that expense as the size of his gift permits. If expendable earnings are sufficient after awarding one full scholarship, additional funds shall be offered as scholarships to additional students based on the above mentioned criteria.
