Ophelia Parker Carraway Scholarship Endowment in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies
An endowed scholarship established by Sheila P. (’83) and Frank Ambrose with a grant from the Frank and Sheila Ambrose Family Foundation to honor the memory of Sheila Ambrose’s mother, Ophelia Parker Carraway, and her dedication to teaching second grade for 23 years.
The annual earnings allocation from the endowment will be split evenly between two students enrolled in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies. Preference will be given to students who are or have participated in the Caregivers Community Network or a similar program in the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services and have made a meaningful impact on a family participating in such a program, as determined by the College of Health and Behavioral Studies scholarship committee. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Health and Behavioral Studies and shall follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
