Victoria F. Alcantara ‚'10 Memorial Scholarship Endowment in Nursing
An endowed scholarship honoring Victoria F. Alcantara a member of the Class of 2010; a Nursing major and a member of the alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority, Victoria lost her life on January 25, 2009 following an automobile accident on her way to a nursing seminar. The Victoria F. Alcantara ’10 Memorial Scholarship Endowment in Nursing will provide financial resources annually for one or more outstanding undergraduate student scholars in the School of Nursing, within the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must (a) have been accepted into the Nursing program at James Madison University, and (b) have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) after at least four semesters of study at the time the student is considered for this scholarship. The selection of Victoria F. Alcantara Scholars shall be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Head for the School of Nursing (or its successor department) within the College of Health and Behavioral Studies (one of the successor colleges to CISAT). Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of students to receive this scholarship shall follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
