Megan Stidham Memorial Scholarship Endowment
An endowed scholarship established with a gift from the Beta Rho Chapter of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Society, the Megan Stidham Memorial Scholarship Endowment was created in honor of Megan Elizabeth Stidham, a brother in the Beta Rho Chapter of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity at James Madison University. Phi Sigma Pi is a co-educational national honors fraternity for students of all majors. Through this scholarship endowment, funds will be provided annually to support two scholarships
The appointment of students as Meghan Stidham Scholars shall follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships and the criteria noted below.
A scholarship selection committee, appointed annually in a manner determined at the discretion of the advisor to the Beta Rho Chapter of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Society, shall make its selections based on the following criteria:
- The first scholarship will be awarded to a brother in the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity who is enrolled at James Madison University at the time of the student’s consideration for this scholarship. - The second scholarship will be awarded to a student in the sophomore or junior year of study who embodies the Phi Sigma Pi tripod exemplifying scholarship, leadership and fellowship – and, further, the student must: Have a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale);Demonstrate active participation in at least fifteen hours of community service during each semester the student has been enrolled at James Madison University; show leadership capabilities by the student’s role(s) in extracurricular activities.- Award
