Valley Scholars - William B. Holtzman Scholarship
An annual scholarship established by William B. Holtzman with gifts supporting the Valley Scholars Program for Scholarships, a University initiative designed to remove the financial barriers that otherwise might prevent promising students in the Shenandoah Valley with high financial need from attending college.
This scholarship will provide support for college scholarships for Valley Scholars who choose to attend James Madison University, with first preference for those from his native Shenandoah County (either graduates of Stonewall Jackson High School, or associate degree graduates from a community college in instances when a Shenandoah County student has chosen to take this path to JMU.) Should the number of Valley Scholars from Shenandoah County not require the full amount of the funding made available by this gift, the scholarship dollars intended for them will be directed to Valley Scholars from Page County High School; and if funds are still available after the needs of these students have been met, the University may use them to meet the scholarship needs of Valley Scholars from any other participating high school.
