Mary Trimmer Robinson (’76, ’79) Touch a Mind Scholarship Endowment in the College of Education

An endowed scholarship established by Mary Trimmer Robinson (’76,’79). This endowment will provide an annual scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a teacher licensure program, including licensure programs within other colleges at JMU, and will reward innovative educational outreach projects that serve children and youth. The student should be leading or preparing to launch a project that identifies a problem in the education field and seeks to implement a solution.

Recipients must:
(A) Be recommended from their program area of study
(B) Have a 3.25 GPA within College of Education coursework

1. Identified problem or opportunity in education or the classroom
2. Overview of a proposed or implemented project to address the problem
3. Potential community, university or other partners for optimizing project impact
4. Necessary funding, if applicable, to implement the project and plans to raise the funds
5. Tools or measures used to assess the success of the project

The review of applications and selection of a Robinson Scholar will be conducted by the Dean of the College of Education, in accordance with their scholarship selection committee procedure.
