Brenda Bond Nester Scholarship Fund

An annual scholarship established by Brenda Bond Nester. This scholarship is non-renewable.

This scholarship will provide financial resources annually to first generation, entering freshman college students who have a need for financial assistance, as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, and whose primary residence is in the counties of Carroll, Grayson, Floyd and/or Pulaski in Southwest Virginia. If there is not a first generation applicant from the above mentioned counties, the award can be made to a transfer student of financial need from New River Community College whose primary residence is in the counties of Carroll, Grayson, Floyd and/or Pulaski. If there is no applicant that fits these criteria then the award can be made to a student of financial need whose primary residence is in rural Southwest Virginia. In all cases the award will be made for one year and is non-renewable.
