Samuel G. Cross String Education Scholarship

An endowed scholarship Inspired by the School of Music and by Dr. Robert McCashin as Director of Orchestras at JMU to support the String Music Education Program at James Madison University. This scholarship is intended to benefit a String Education Major in the School of Music of the Junior or Senior Level. The one year award will initially be made to one student each year. A student may be re-selected in subsequent years. This stipulation is made so that the student establishes at least a two year music and academic track record, the basis upon which selection for the scholarship will be made. Recipient of the Samuel G. Cross Education Scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee in the School of Music based on recommendations from the String Area Faculty of the School of Music.
