Richard F. and Denise A. Whitman Scholarship Endowment-CVPA
An endowed scholarship established with a gift by Denise A. Whitman to honor the memory of Dr. Richard F. Whitman who was the Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at the time of his retirement. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student in the College of Arts and Letters for a period of four years and the following four years will be awarded annually to a student in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. This four-year rotation between the two colleges will continue. Whitman Scholars must remain in academic good standing and have a major in the college for which they are awarded the scholarship throughout the four years. If the Whitman Scholar does not meet this criteria throughout the four years, the Dean of that specific college may award the scholarship to another recipient meeting the criteria for the remainder of the four years.
