Jill Barone Fugit '93 Scholarship Endowment in Education

An endowed scholarship established by Jill B. Fugit ’93. This scholarship is to honor Jill’s passion for education. As a student at James Madison University, she majored in English and minored in Education. It is the desire of Jill to support education students during their fifth year while the students are student teaching.

This scholarship will be awarded annually to two fifth-year students who are enrolled in the Middle or Secondary Education Masters Program, splitting the annual funds evenly between the two recipients. To qualify as a Fugit Scholar, the recipients must be majoring in English, enrolled in the secondary education pre-professional English teacher licensure program and completing her/his final semester of her/his undergraduate degree program with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Selection of recipients will be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Education.
