Tidewater Area Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship

An endowed scholarship established with an initial gift from the Tidewater Area Alumni Chapter to support a scholarship to provide funds annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar who is from the region in Virginia served by the Tidewater Area Alumni Chapter. The appointed student scholar may be an incoming first year student. In the case of undergraduate students already enrolled, the appointed student scholar must be in good academic standing with the University at the time of the scholarship award decision. As long as an appointed student scholar remains in good academic standing with the University, this scholarship may be renewed for up to three additional academic years.

The appointment of Tidewater Area Alumni Chapter Scholars will be made upon nomination by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in conjunction with the approval of the Office of Alumni Relations. If, in any particular year, there are no eligible students from the Tidewater Area Alumni Chapter region, then this Scholarship may be used to assist an eligible undergraduate student from the southern Virginia area. If, in such a case, there are no eligible students from the southern Virginia area, then this scholarship may be used to assist any eligible undergraduate student at the University.
