Mary Jo Sweeney (‘53, ‘61) Scholarship Endowment in the School of Music for Music Education

An endowed scholarship established by Mary Jo Sweeney (‘53, ‘61).

This scholarship will provide financial resources to a student majoring in music education and who demonstrates financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The scholarship is renewable for two years in the undergraduate program as long as the student continues to meet the criteria. If the recipient enters directly into the Masters of Music Education and continues to meet all criteria, the scholarship may be awarded an additional two years. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Director of the School of Music in consultation with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and will follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.

As dictated in the agreement, scholarships for academic years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 may only be awarded to undergraduates and are renewable as undergraduates for two years. For academic years 2025-26 and beyond, renewals may be applicable to recipients who enter directly into the Masters of Music Education and continue to meet all criteria.
