Norman and Myrtle Shifflett Memorial Scholarship in Sociology
An annual scholarship established by Dr. Peggy Ann Shifflett (‘69, ‘70).
To be named a Shifflett Scholar, the recipient must be an undergraduate and a Virginia resident who majors in Sociology with preference given to students with financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The scholarship is renewable as long as the student continues to meet the criteria, subject to the availability of funds. Scholarships will be administered at the discretion of the Academic Unit Head of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology following the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
