Byrnes Family Scholarship Fund-Financial Crisis

An annual scholarship established with a gift from the Byrnes Family Foundation.

To be eligible, students must be Virginia residents, rising full-time Juniors or Seniors, and maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher. This scholarship will be awarded equally over two semesters to two students experiencing a financial crisis who without benefit of the scholarship would be unable to remain enrolled at the University, with preference to students who have experienced a personal challenge during their college career which has adversely impacted the financial situation including, but not limited to a parent or guardian losing a job, death or illness of a parent or guardian. Scholarships can be renewed one time as long as the student continues to meet the criteria, as funds are available. The selection of recipients shall be made at the discretion of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
