Sandra Hepp Eagle ’62, ’80 Scholarship Endowment in the College of Arts and Letters English Department

An endowed scholarship established with an estate gift from Rita Hepp Hawley to honor the memory of her daughter, Sandra Eagle (’62, ’80), who was an outstanding University faculty member and was a mainstay in the English Department where she taught a variety of subjects. She is remembered by her peers for being even-handed, hospitable, friendly, and good humored to all she encountered.

Through this scholarship endowment, the Donor intends to recognize outstanding achievement and provide financial resources annually to a junior or senior student majoring in English in the College of Arts and Letters. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or greater. The scholarship is renewable for junior recipients as long as the recipient continues to meet the criteria. Scholarships will be awarded in a manner determined by the English Department Head, in conjunction with recommendations from the English Department Scholarship Committee, and shall follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships that are in effect at the time this gift is received.
