Gap Soon Choi Memorial Scholarship Endowment for Voice in the School of Music
An endowed scholarship created by Dr. In Dal Choi and other family members and friends of his mother, Gap Soon Choi, to honor her memory. The scholarship will provide financial support each year for at least one rising senior whose major instrument is voice. Students in all music major concentrations are eligible to pursue this scholarship. Each year during the spring semester, one (or more) student(s) shall be chosen by vote of the voice faculty within the School of Music as the Gap Soon Choi Scholar(s); and, the scholarship funds shall be presented to the student(s) in the succeeding academic year, with one-half provided in the fall semester and the other half provided in the spring semester. The following additional criteria shall be used each year in determining the recipient(s) of the Gap Soon Choi Memorial Scholarship; specifically: the student must not be anticipating, at the time of consideration, receipt of any other music scholarship as a senior, and the scholarship shall be awarded to the most active and talented vocalist who meets all the requirements for this scholarship.
