JMU First Generation Scholarship

The First Generation Scholarship is for students whose parent(s)/guardian(s) have never attended college. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

• Meet the definition of first-generation
• Be classified as In-state.
• Graduate from a JMU Professor in Residence High School.
• File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Filing before March 1st increases potential for aid from other sources as well.
• Must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant per the results of the FAFSA and subsequent FAFSA verification conducted by JMU.
