Harrie E & Madaline H. Carpenter Academic Scholarship Endowment in the College of Education

An endowed scholarship established with an estate gift given by Harrie E. and Madaline H. Carpenter, who was an alumna of the Class of 1943. This endowment will provide financial resources for scholarships that will be equally awarded to full-time students majoring in elementary education and having an entering minimum SAT score of 1,200 or its equivalent. The scholarships will be for full tuition support for eight (8) semesters provided the student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA. In the event a recipient falls below a cumulative 3.0 GPA, the tuition payments will be discontinued until the student again attains a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated financial need who reside within the State of Virginia.
