Betty Moxley Snyder Scholarship

A scholarship established with a bequest from the Estate of Betty Moxley Snyder, these scholarships are intended to benefit students who are in good standing and admitted as a full-time student at James Madison University in a four to five year graduation track. First preference is given to residents of Buena Vista, VA or Rockbridge County, VA. The Director of Scholarships selects a student, preferably an entering freshman, each year. As long as the student maintained good standing with the university, he or she may received this tuition-scholarship each year up to, but not exceeding four years, unless a fifth year is applicable to the degree sought. Normal oversight of the fund shall be the responsibility of the Board of Directors of the James Madison University Foundation, Inc. The tuition-scholarship may be used to assist any deserving James Madison University student who is a resident of the state of Virginia, when a student cannot be selected using preferred criteria mentioned above.
