Lawrence Cain Memorial Scholarship Fund in the School of Media Arts and Design

An annual scholarship established by Mr. Charles R. Kenney, Jr., (’79, ’83) in memory of Lawrence Cain, a student who majored in Communications at JMU and tragically died in an auto accident in July of 1978.

•It is the donor’s desire that one scholarship be awarded annually to a student in the School of Media Arts and Design who exhibits academic excellence in their field.
•The selection of Cain Scholars will be made each year at the discretion of the Head of the School of Media Arts and Design in consultation with the Dean of the College of Arts and Letters.

Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of students to receive these scholarships will follow the guidelines of the University for the awarding of scholarships.
