Catherine H. Giordano Scholarship Endowment in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics
An endowed scholarship established with a gift from Catherine Giordano.
This endowment will provide financial resources annually for one (or more) scholarships. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be an incoming freshman and, must demonstrate (a) an intention to pursue a major in one (or more) of the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics academic disciplines; and, (b) a need for financial assistance, as determined by the university’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. The Donor’s specific direction is that this scholarship be limited to incoming freshman so as to encourage students with an offer of admission to choose James Madison University for their college experience. Further, the Donor desires that the scholarship(s) shall be awarded, as a matter of preference, to students from under-represented populations and/or students from populations that are under-represented in academic study, research, and professional careers associated with the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Each year, the selection and number of Catherine H. Giordano Scholars shall be determined in a manner established at the discretion of the Vice Provost responsible for the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics.
