Charles W. Smith, Jr. and Mary B. Smith Scholarship Endowment in the Honors College-College of Science and Mathematics

An endowed Scholarship established by Sarah M. Smith (’80) and Charles W. Smith III (’81) to honor the parents of Charles W. Smith III (’81).

Through this scholarship, the Donors intend to benefit entering freshmen accepted into the Honors College with demonstrated financial need as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The preference is to award to a student admitted through the Early Action process who is pursuing a degree in the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM). The scholarship will be renewable as long as the student remains in good standing within the Honors College, continues enrollment within the CSM, and continues to meet the financial need requirement. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Dean of the Honors College in consultation with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of students to receive these scholarships will follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
