Class of 1994 Freshmen Merit Scholarship Endowment Fund
An endowed scholarship established by The Class of 1994 through their Senior Challenge Steering Committee. It is their intent to recognize and reward an incoming freshman student who has proven to be strong academically, as well as demonstrated strength in leadership roles in extra-curricular activities.
The Class recommends that a selection committee be established by the Office of Admissions. Information about the candidate will be obtained from the Application for Admission. It is intended that a new scholarship be awarded each year until a total of four scholarships are awarded.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, a student should meet the following criteria:
-The scholarship is designated for incoming freshmen students.
-The student’s high school transcript must show an exceptional class rank or grade point average and demonstrate a challenging academic course load. ACT/SAT scores may be taken into consideration if provided.
-The student must show strength in a variety (more than one) of leadership roles in school and/or community organizations.
Once awarded the scholarship shall be renewed annually, for up to four years, provided the recipient maintains at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average. If a recipient should become ineligible for renewed scholarship funds, the scholarship proceeds shall be added to the scholarship corpus until such time that the scholarship would have been used by the original recipient.
