Geraldine Whitmer Miller (’61) "Eyes Open to the World" Scholarship Endowment for the College of Education

An endowed scholarship established with an estate gift from Geraldine Whitmer Miller (’61).

Awards from this scholarship will be used by a student enrolled in the College of Education at James Madison University to aid in his or her participation in a study abroad program ( (sanctioned by the university’s Center for Global Engagement (formerly the Office of International Programs)). This scholarship will be awarded to students preparing for careers as educators within the Middle and Secondary Education program, with a preference given to students seeking to teach geography, social studies, or history. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must demonstrate a need for financial assistance as determined by the university’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. The selection of Geraldine Whitmer Miller Scholars shall be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Education.
