Ian Kincheloe Memorial Scholarship Endowment by Beta Beta Beta Bio Honors Society

An endowed scholarship established in memory of Ian Kincheloe, a member of the Class of 2004, majoring in Biology, who lost his life in a car accident on his way home to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving break in November 2001. Ian’s death had an impact on his family and friends in ways that those who never had a chance to meet him may never be able to fully appreciate. Ian was a model student and a trusted friend. He was passionate in his work as a student in the Biology Department. Ian’s glowing personality and countless contributions to the university community were well noted at the time of his death and will not be forgotten. The Tri-Beta members, in collaboration with Ian’s parents, Mike and Ann Kincheloe, honor him through this scholarship in his memory.

The scholarship funds are intended to advance the student scholars’ academic studies in Biology and their commitment to the community. This scholarship shall be supportive of undergraduate students engaged in the study of Biology who demonstrate academic excellence, a commitment to scientific research, and a dedication to community service. The appointment of a student as an Ian Kincheloe Memorial Scholar shall be respectful of the above criteria and the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
