Juanita Hodnett Chandler Memorial Scholarship Endowment

An endowed scholarship established By Wallace L. Chandler in loving memory of his wife, Juanita Hodnett Chandler to provide annual financial resources to a student from Halifax County, Virginia. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must have a declared major in the College of Business and/or the College of Education and demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Furthermore, this scholarship will be awarded to a student whose home residence is located in the County of Halifax, Virginia. In the event there are no students from this County in a given year, scholarship expendable funds may be held for a year or be awarded to a student who is a resident of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. This scholarship is renewable and it is preferred that the scholarship follow one student through graduation so long as the student maintains a 2.8 GPA and remains a major in the College of Business or the College of Education. If one of those factors should change, then the scholarship would be awarded to a new incoming student.

The selection of “The Juanita Hodnett Chandler Memorial Scholar” will be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
