Lacy Daniel Scholarship Endowment

An endowed scholarship originally established in 1980 by the Black Student Alliance. In 1998 the scholarship was re-named as a memorial tribute to Dr. Lacy Daniel who faithfully advised the Black Student Alliance during his tenure at JMU.

The endowment will provide funds annually to support a scholarship for an underrepresented undergraduate student whose talents, skills and abilities enable them to enrich the James Madison University community. The Lacy Daniel Scholar must be enrolled full-time, have a minimum 2.8 GPA, and can be majoring in any discipline. The scholarship may be renewed as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria. Scholarships will be awarded in a manner determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and shall follow the University’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships
