Jennifer Funai Campfield ('91, '02) and David S. Campfield ('84) Scholarship Endowment
An endowed scholarship established by Jennifer Funai Campfield (’91, ’02) and David S. Campfield (’84).
Campfield Scholarship recipients must demonstrate financial need as determined by the university’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Each year, first preference for the scholarship award will be given to James Madison University students who attended A. R. Ware Elementary School, Thomas Dixon Elementary School or Bessie Weller Elementary School in Staunton, Virginia. If a student attended one of these elementary schools, the scholarship may be renewed for up to four consecutive years, as long as the recipient demonstrates financial need and remains in good standing with the university.
If there is not a student from the above mentioned elementary schools in a given year, the award may be given to a student who graduated from Staunton High School (formerly Robert E. Lee High School) in Staunton, Virginia, in which case the award would be non-renewable unless the university is unable to identify a qualified student from the above designated elementary schools in the subsequent year(s). The appointment of a student as a Campfield Scholar shall be made by the university’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and shall follow the university’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
