GYO Campus Teaching Fellows

For incoming students from the following districts: Harrisonburg City, Rockingham County, Frederick County, Warren County, Page County, Portsmouth City, Petersburg City, and Virginia Beach City the GYO Campus Teaching Fellows program supports full-time students who are interested in earning a bachelor’s degree and become credentialed teachers in the areas of Inclusive Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or Elementary Education. In exchange for teaching 2 years in one of the districts identified as part of this initiative, you would receive funding that would cover your tuition, comprehensive fees, and room and board allowances. This should be considered a future loan forgiveness program instead of a traditional scholarship. Funding is established with recurring legislative appropriations in the biennium budget from the Virginia General Assembly, which is subject to change.

Deadlines for applications:
Early Action priority: January 1st
Regular Decision: March 1st
