Alan Neckowitz Study Abroad Scholarship Fund

An annual scholarship established to honor Alan Neckowitz, who was instrumental in founding the Summer in Ireland Study Abroad Program. This fund will assist with the expenses of at least one School of Media Arts & Design (SMAD) major studying abroad each year. The awards committee will give first priority to a student with a record of outstanding academic and co-curricular achievement who is enrolled in a program that is taught or directed by a member of the SMAD faculty.

If SMAD is renamed or restructured, then the unit that contains mass communication and/or journalism would be the one whose students would be assisted. Control of expenditures from this fund will reside with the scholarship committee of SMAD or the department containing mass communication and/or journalism in coordination with the head of the academic unit containing those programs.
