James Madison University-Northwest Arlington Lions Club Baker Scholarships Endowment
An endowed scholarship established by Northwest Arlington Lions Charities, Inc. Northwest Arlington Lions Charities, Inc. and the member Lions of the Northwest Arlington Lions Club have been special friends of grad students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University for 1/3 of a Century by awarding scholarships annually to outstanding scholars of that Department
Criteria for Scholarship Recipients
Full-time graduate students who are enrolled in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program and mastering in the Residential Speech-Language Pathology Program, studying to treat or teach individuals with personal interaction dysfunctions (sight, hearing, speech, or other methods or means of communications), and preferably residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Administration of the Scholarships
Annual allocations from the Fund will be administered by Academic Unit Head of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Scholarships may be awarded to one or more students in an academic year by the Guardian and any scholarships so awarded shall be at least $1,000. All awarding of scholarships and selection of recipients shall be at the sole discretion of the Guardian of the Fund, with awareness of the University guidelines for awarding scholarships.
