Steven B. Buckhantz (’77) Broadcast Journalism Scholarship Fund in the School of Media Arts and Design

An annual scholarship established by Steven B. Buckhantz (’77).

Donor Criteria Restrictions
• Students intend to enroll or have enrolled within the School of Media Arts and Design with a journalism concentration.
• Preference for students pursuing broadcast journalism.
• Merit based.
• Undergraduates.

Administration
• May be used for recruiting.
• The first year of award will be 2026-2027. One incoming first year student and three upperclassmen (one second year, one third year, one fourth year) will be selected the first year. Thereafter, one incoming first year student will be added each year through 2029-2030.
• Renewable as long as the student continues to meet the criteria, subject to the availability of funds. If a recipient does not qualify for renewal, a new student in the same class standing who meets the criteria will be selected to fulfill the remaining renewal periods.
• The scholarship is intended for no more than four students per year, and the annual award will be divided equally among the students .
Guardian

The guardian of this account will be the Director of the School of Media Arts and Design. Recipients will be selected at the discretion of the guardian following the University’s guidelines for awarding scholarships.
