Bannister (’73) BRATs Scholarship Endowment

An endowed scholarship established by Patrick A. Bannister (’73).

Donor Criteria

Restrictions
• Must be a dependent of an active-duty U.S. military service member and able to provide proof through the University’s Veteran and Military Affairs Engagement Office (JMU VALOR) or provide documentation verifying the parent or guardian’s military status and the student’s relationship to the parent or guardian.
• Undergraduate.
• Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Administration
• Renewable as long as the student remains an undergraduate and maintains a cumulative 2.0 GPA.
• May be awarded to more than one student
• The maximum award amount should not exceed the cost of in-state tuition, with any unused award funds returned to the endowment principal.

Guardian
The guardian of this account will be the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Recipients will be selected at the discretion of the guardian following the University’s guidelines for awarding scholarships
