Thomas A. Dingledine Scholarship Endowment for Achievement in Academics & Service
An endowed scholarship established by Thomas Dingledine. The recipients will be known as Dingledine Scholars.
Donor Criteria
Restrictions
· Incoming first-year students who demonstrate excellence in academics and a commitment to helping others.
· While financial need is not a requirement, it should be a preference for selection when two (or more) students are otherwise equivalently qualified for a scholarship.
Administration
· The goal of this fund is to create total recruitment scholarship offers in conjunction with other JMU scholarships that are equivalent to full in-state tuition and fees.
· Recipients will be chosen from among students admitted to JMU and the Honors College.
· Renewable as long as the recipient maintains good standing in the Honors College and the Dean of the Honors College determines the recipient maintains a high level of involvement in the programming implemented for recipients.
Guardian
The guardian of this account will be the Dean of the Honors College, or designee. Recipients will be selected at the discretion of the guardian, or designee, following the University’s guidelines for awarding scholarships.

- Essay #1: Describe and discuss a time when you were under pressure to make a significant decision.
